Author Woes

In order to keep from creating a bunch of continuity errors, I am going to have to reread all three books of the Sword’s Edge Chronicles: Sword’s Edge, Children of the Enaisi, and Laws and Prophecies. And Unlikely Prophet as well and take copious notes.

Why, you ask? I’m starting the sequel to Unlikely Prophet, and also the next book in the Sword’s Edge Chronicles.

Getting Ready for Dover Comic Con!

If you’re local, don’t forget to come to Dover Comic Con tomorrow! Lots of great cosplayers, artists, authors, and much, much more!

I’m at Booth #66, and am doing a panel at 3 p.m.  “Writing to Get Published: What an Editor Wants.”

My newest book, Laws and Prophecies, third of the Sword’s Edge Chronicles series, will be showcased. If you haven’t gotten a copy yet, come on by and get a print copy – signed!

And no, book three of the Deuces Wild series isn’t out yet, but if you haven’t bought the first two, you can get them while you’re there and enjoy some space opera goodness as well as catch up to speed before book three is published.

😎

My first review of Laws and Prophecies!

Wow – my first review of Laws and Prophecies!

Fun characters, great story:

This book lived up to and surpassed the other books in the series. I enjoy the characters so much I would love to meet them in real life. The story line draws me in making it hard to put the book down. My only disappointment would be that now I begin the wait for the next book in the series. I love how the author demonstrates how laws can be made with one intent and how over time and centuries the public sees those same laws as having the opposite intent.

😎

If you haven’t gotten it yet, Laws and Prophecies is available in many ebook formats and in print:

Laws and Prophecies – book three of the Sword’s Edge Chronicles Available Now!

Yes, finally, after many delays, it has happened! Laws and Prophecies is now available!

Thane Alcandhor is assailed from all sides: treason within his clan, conspiracies from kin, and turmoil due to the return of the aliens known as the Enaisi. When hit by a final onslaught—rebellion by provincial lords threatening to set up their own despotic princedoms, Alcandhor is forced to choose between upholding their laws and fulfilling ancient, haunting prophecies.

Laws and Prophecies…is indeed concerned with the details of laws and prophecies, which fundamentally affect every citizen. I would call it a novel of manners, where social and legal interpretations are essential… [t]here is indeed more to science fiction than pyrotechnics.”
Piers Anthony

“I liked the novel very much. King covered a lot of territory and brought on a number of situations darkly hinted at in the earlier books.”
P.M. Griffin

This is book three of the Sword’s Edge Chronicles, and I do highly recommend you read these books in order:
Sword’s Edge
Children of the Enaisi

To get you started, I am offering book one, Sword’s Edge, at half-price in ebook format.

It also wouldn’t hurt to read Unlikely Prophet, the prequel which takes place 1000 years earlier, as it will give further insight to various events in the series. Just a suggestion.

Laws and Prophecies – Update!

I can finally state the book is done! Book three of the Sword’s Edge Chronicles is finally done! Honest!

Laws and Prophecies will be out in June – no exact date is set yet, that depends on a few factors, but I will announce it as soon as I have it!

Anyway, what do you think?

As this is book three of the series, I highly recommend backing up and starting with the first two books of the series, Sword’s Edge and Children of the Enaisi. It wouldn’t hurt to read Unlikely Prophet as well, to understand some of the history of this world and of their laws, which play such an important part of their lives and culture.

Dover Comic Con and new books in my series!

Tomorrow is Dover Comic Con, and I’m thrilled to have two new books in the Sword’s Edge Chronicles to offer at my table!

For those who aren’t close enough to attend (and if that’s the case I’m sorry, I’m so sorry), you can still snag the two new titles, or if you perhaps haven’t started the series yet, now is the time, because the fourth book in that series is due out this fall. You can get the first book, Sword’s Edge, online in print or ebook (in lots of different formats).

The two new books of the series are (in published order): Children of the Enaisi, which continues hard on the heels of the first book, Sword’s Edge, and book three, entitled Unlikely Prophet, a prequel which takes place 1,000 years in the past, and adds to the depth and understanding of their world.
Book four, Laws and Prophecies, as I said will be out soon.

And in case swords, capes, castles, aliens, portals, bio-tech, and telepathy aren’t your thing, I also have two novels in a space opera series: Deuces Wild. It’s about a cowboy and a space pirate. Or is he a mercenary? Or an assassin? Perhaps you’ll figure it out.

Rough draft done of Laws and Prophecies – book three of the Sword’s Edge Chronicles

Now for the hard work – polishing that baby until it shines and checking for continuity errors, typos, and awaiting the verdict from My Physicist™.

Within a few months (tentative deadline is autumn equinox) I hope the book will be out.

If you’ve not yet read The Sword’s Edge Chronicles, now is a great time to start, not only because you’ll have books one and two plus the prequel to plow through before book three is out, but right now, the first book of the series, Sword’s Edge, is on for $0.99!
(How’s that for a run-on sentence? 😀 )

Sword's Edge

🙂

A :headdesk: moment, but a hurrah as well!

TFW you finish the dialogue of the final scene of a novel, and know it’s great, then realize you forgot an important plot point and must rewrite the whole bloody thing! *bangs head on desk*

On the upside for anyone interested, when I get done fixing this last scene, then the rough draft of the third book of the Sword’s Edge Chronicles, Laws and Prophecies, will be complete!

Now for beta readers!

🙂
